November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway!

Jayne Nelson

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the November My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, November 6th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We'll be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday. And, remember to comment on each and every post as we'll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Now join Jayne as she shares a first glimpse at this beautiful kit...

I was overwhelmed with the contents of this month's My Monthly Hero kit so I have a simple set of holiday cards to share today. I simply paired these gorgeous stamps with a few holiday colors and then replicated versions of a single design to quickly make a set of cards that can be easily mass-produced. The kit includes a large stamp set with many wonderful holiday images and sentiments, as well as a set of matching dies, that can all be used to create both cards and gift tags!

For each card, I started by selecting one image that I stamped multiple times across a trimmed piece of white cardstock. I stamped the images with Mint Julep, Pine, Pumpkin Pie, and Strawberry inks, occasionally overlapping the images and always leaving some intentional white space.

After matting the stamped panel with Pine cardstock and securing it to a Grass card base, I stamped the same image, in this case an ornament, on a piece of white cardstock and then used the coordinating tag die to cut around the shape. I really love having a set of shaped dies for holiday tags that can be used with or without the matching stamps. I tied a red bow through the hole and then secured the die cut shape to the card front with foam tape.

For my second card, I stamped a collection of decorated pine trees across the card front. I absolutely adore the size and shape of this cute Christmas tree. After making this card, I'm very anxious to make tree shaped gift tags for our presents this year.

The star included in this month's kit is so pretty! The small leaves and branches pattern makes a striking star image that's very versatile and can be used throughout the year. On each card, I stamped a single sentiment from the kit, with either Pine or Strawberry ink.

For my last card, I used the kit's snowflake stamp and die to create a wintry design. If you look closely, you'll see that the snowflake die has an extra detail at each of the six points which makes the snowflakes especially beautiful! To finish each card with some holiday shine, I added a trio of Ombre Green sequins.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, November 6th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to come back later today for another look at this month's kit!
