Video: No-Line Fall Watercolor With Fancy Dies
Hi friends! I'm here today with some easy no-line watercolor tips. I know that a lot of people are intimidated by watercolor and especially no-line watercolor, but I want to show you an easy way to get your feet wet with this fun technique.
It starts by choosing a Fancy Die – these are my go-to for watercolor projects like this, and today I am using the Acorn Branch Fancy Die. This is a great size and theme because you only need a few colors, and the size is perfect for a short painting session.
The Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors are great for this technique because once they are dry, you can paint over them with water or pigment without disturbing the previous layer. So for the shading technique you'll be seeing, they are perfect.
The colors I used are: Daffodil, Leaf, Moss, Terracotta, Coffee (from the Skin Tone set) and Art Print Brown. The paper is cold press 100% cotton Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper. (You will need a 100% cotton paper for this type of painting).
You can sort of see from the shadows on the first photo, but this is a better photo of how I bent the leaves up off the card base for dimension and a more realistic branch feel. Our Little Buddy stamp set works perfectly with this die too, if, like me, you can never have too many squirrels in your life!
I used the Grateful Words Fancy Dies and our Fall Glitter Paper assortment for the beautiful layered and sparkly sentiment.
Here is the video, which you can also watch on YouTube:
I'm so glad you stopped by today. I hope you take some time for yourself today, do a little relaxing watercolor, and appreciate the beauty of nature!

I loved this video, and your instruction of how to paint the delicate die cut. It was a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
