No-Line Coloring Mr. & Mrs. Claus Background
Hello friends! Today I'm so excited to share this no-line coloring all over background design featuring the From the Vault Mr. and Mrs. Stamp & Cut set! I love the look of colored pencils on a kraft background and the Hero Hues Sand Cardstock is the perfect background for Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
To start, I stamped a sentiment in the upper third of the background with the From the Vault Home Scene Stamp Set using the Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossing with White Detail Embossing Powder.
Next I stamped the From the Vault Mr. and Mrs. Stamp & Cut Santa, Mrs. Claus, and candy cane images all around the sentiment using the Embossing & Watermark Ink. This creates an outline easy to see yet fades a bit as the ink dries. The images were colored with the following Poychromos Colored Pencils:
Santa: Dark Red, Deep Red, Cold Grey IV, Dark Sepia, Warm Grey IV, Medium Flesh, Cinnamon, Light Flesh, White
Mrs. Claus: Dark Red, Deep Red, Cold Grey IV, Dark Sepia, Warm Grey IV, Medium Flesh, Cinnamon, Light Flesh, White, Hooker's Green, May Green
Candy Cane: Dark Red, Deep Red, White
Detail was added to the eyes and buttons on Santa's coat with a black gel pen. Detail was added to Mrs. Claus' mouth with a fine detail black pen.
From the Vault Mr. and Mrs. Stamp & Cut snowflake images were stamped with the Embossing & Watermark Ink in any open areas on the background and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder.
The 4" x 5 1/4" background was adhered to a white top fold card base and finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White to finish the design.
Thank you so much for joining me today!

Is there a video for this particular Santa card?
My sister followed above directions and colored a little bit of her Santa/mrs Santa stamp set W/ her polychromos colored pencils & when she went back to finish coloring it had spread into a blurred watermark. I know the ink is for embossing & watermarks, but is there a certain amount of time that you would need to do the coloring in before it turns into a watermark?? Was there a step left out?
Help please!

Very cute — love the vintage look. Thanks for the reminder that colored pencils help create a lot of texture and color variations!
