Night Time Waterfall HeroScape
Welcome everyone! It's Mindy with you today to share some inspiration using the gorgeous new Waterfall HeroScape stamp set. I am a huge huge fan of the HeroScapes and experimenting with different looks using them. Today I'm going for a night time look.
Inside of using the traditional colors of a waterfall, I'm stamping it all in various shades of blue. When you look at scenery at night, you don't often see the colors of the landscape. You see darker tones from the shadows of the night so that is what I'm going for today.
On Dove White cardstock I stamped the first layer of the waterfall in Stone Wash Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and the second layer in Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. To add in contrast, I stamped the first layer of the water in Pool Party Reactive Ink and the second layer in Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink.
I used the coordinating die to cut out my landscape as I will be popping it up with foam tape later.
For the background, I started with a piece of Lapis cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" for an A2 size card. Starting from the top of the card, I ink blended Cornflower Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. As I got towards the bottom of the card, I lightened the amount of ink I was using so it would fade off into the color of the cardstock.
Next, I ink blended on Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink starting from the top and blending into the Cornflower Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. If you wanted to add stars, you could flick on some White Glimmer Metallic Ink.
After the ink was completely dry, I heat embossed a sentiment by stamping it in Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and adding Silver Embossing Powder.
Before attaching my waterfall, I used it as a guide to add palm trees to the background. I stamped the small trees in the Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink to match the rest of my card. Then I could finish off the front of the card by adding the waterfall scene using foam tape.
I love all the different color possibilities that the HeroScapes have to offer.
Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration! Thanks so much for joining me today.
