I have always been a papercrafter since I was a kid. I always drew cards and taped on “embellishments “. I became a stamper twenty years ago. One of my first stamp sets is a HA flourish set that has a picture on the back of a scrapbook layout featuring Jennifer McGuire’s son who looks to be 18 months. My box of wood mount HA stamps are some of my favorites!

I’ve been papercrafting ever since I was a kid – I’ve been coloring or making something with paper for over 50 years! But didn’t get into serious stamping until around 1990 (when I had my own money to spend ;-)). I also crochet a bit (straight lines only ;-)) and do some cross-stitching. I need another set of arms and another head for all the crafting I want to do!

Happy new year’s! I started rubber stamping in the early 1990’s, when stamps were still made of India red rubber. I now prefer the clear stamps which are easier to store and restamp to get clearer images. My early cards usually were of camping scenes for yearly reminders of my family reunions. Now they are for birthdays and all kinds of holidays.

I’ve been paper crafting for over 25 years. And I dabble a bit in resin and clay in molds too. Metal repousse. Simple jewelry. It’s always a bonus when I can use my stamps in other non-paper crafts.
Like many others way back then, I quickly found Hero Arts stamps and still have quite a few older sets… remember Quatros!? Poetic Prints!?
I still have alphabets, DesignBlock backgrounds and a dozen or so single wood mount stamps too.
Hmm. Thinking about those stamps now, I’m going to get out some of my favorite oldies and have a play…

I have been stamping since 1994, when I was invited to a stamping party! Only wooden stamps were available at that time, and I don’t know if there were any websites with companies selling stamps. But we had a wonderful brick and mortar stamp store in our city! Hero Arts stamps were some of the first I ever owned and they are still wonderful!
I also scrapbook and sew.

On day 1 a pipe burst outside, on day 2 water started dripping from the ceiling in the dining room and on day 3 we learned there is no attic access to the area. So I went to the craft area to cheer up. That’s what crafting does, puts the focus on others as I make stuff for others and reminds me how blessed we are to get to craft.

I haven’t really done many other crafts recently, but before I had children, I did a little bit of ceramics and sewing. Now card making is my favorite craft, because it doesn’t involve lots of special equipment.

Happy New Year to everyone at Hero Arts! I’ve been paper crafting most of my life, beginning with making my own paper dolls as a child. I started stamping in the 1980’s , and Hero Arts stamps were some of my first additions to my stash. It’s been so fun watching the industry grow and change over the years, and to see how fashions change along with it. I still have all of my old wood mounted HA stamps, and still use them.
Besides paper crafting, I do a little bit of sewing, and plan to start cross-stitching some small projects after taking a break from it for 10 years.

Hello. It took me a long time to commit to paper crafting. A friend of mine has been stamping since the 80s, as much as she tried I couldn’t be a success. I think it had to with the coloring inks at the time. Nothing ever looked good. Then wait a minute someone showed us embossing powders with sparkles. I loved that aspect but you can only emboss so much lol
Finally when the market shifted to new and inventive products like inks that reacted to water, pastes, foil etc it’s like the craft world opened up for me. I enjoy stencils and the creativity of dies and stamps. Cards with twists or that bring a smile. I enjoy seeing what the new kit will bring each month. My last kit was delivered pretty late which was ok but I got sick and have landed in the hospital before Christmas. I am looking forward to playing with it and plan to create tags for next year with the November kit. I was hoping to see the new kit for January when I came to the blog this weekend but that’s Just cause I am stuck and wanted to see something new ( haha). I am sure it will be worth the wait.

I am an avid card maker. I love giving them to random people, for no reason at all. I have been making cards for about 35 years and I am always learning something new. I am not a very good colorer, so like more dies, stencils, etc. that takes most of the guesswork out. I also love to make videos of our pictures when we did travel, although not for a couple years now, due to COVID…but will get back to that I am sure.

I’ve been making cards and scrapbook pages for over 20 years when my daughter became a stampin up demonstrator. Those were the only stamps I knew. Then one day I saw a 12×4 Hero Arts stamp set called Birds and Branch (2008) and I was hooked! I still use that long branch on my cards and it’s great on slimlines. Thank You for the opportunity to enter your Gratitude Giveaway, that’s so generous of you guys! I’ve been paper crafting for around 18yrs now. I started after I sustained an injury at work and had surgery 2yrs later and I’ve been disabled every since! I had to find something to keep me from going stir crazy and looking at the 4 walls closing in on me and having excruciating pain 24/7/365. After talking with my husband, I needed to find something to distract me from all the pain so I got involved in the Scrapbooking world and fell in love with it! I branched out and started making my own cards and then bought a Cricut and love doing vinyl and heat transfer vinyl too! I’ve started painting a couple years ago and I’m now gathering supplies to start into another hobby as well! I’ve attempted sewing too. I’ve been a papercrafter for about 44 years. I have tried nearly every type of crafting at one time or another. While other types of crafting I do in spurts, some, like needlework and jewelry making I have returned to, other have been on a “try it, done that” basis. I have never abandoned paper crafting and Hero Arts has been part of my paper crafting for much of that time…I think 37 years.

My husband & I took a class to learn crocheting and made a few blankets for family. I must say my husband is better at it than me.

I started papercrafting/cardmaking eleven years ago when I was forced to resign from my job due to health/disability issues. My husband said, “You’re going to have to have a hobby or you’ll be bored”. As we were in the area of a sewing store, he suggested quilting. I, in stunned surprise, blurted, “What are you thinking?!” Sewing & I do not get along well.. :) I had a couple of friends who made greeting cards & I thought that would be something I could dabble in. Well, as they say, the rest is history. I enjoy this hobby so much! I’ve come to realize over the years that Hero Arts is a reputable company who cares about the crafting community & puts out fabulous products. I have been crafting greeting cards for about three years. Just before transitioning into card making I was doing a lot more acrylic paint work and then alcohol ink compositions.
