Neon Glitter Paste
Hello Crafters! It's Kelly Taylor here and today I have a fun technique to share with you that I think we'll be perfect for these upcoming summer months!
This month has been all about our nostalgic childhoods and the You're Dynamite Bundle set definitely brings me back to mine. I went roller skating every Friday night! I really wanted to pair it with the fun neon colors of my childhood. I decided to see if I could color my glitter paste with the beautiful Liquid Watercolor Neon Brights and guess what? You can!
I scooped out small little bit of Glitter Hero Paste into four individual piles and then added a drop or two of neon watercolor to each pile. I used Brights Purple, Brights Pink, Brights Yellow, and Brights Chartreuse. After I mixed up each color I was able to use the Glitter Paste as normal over the new Starlight Rays Stencil. A few things of note, you'll want to watch how much color you add since we're adding liquid you don't want it to be too wet. Add one drop at a time adding in more paste if needed. I used Dove White cardstock but the added moisture did mean I had to flatten it out after it dried due to curling. The most important thing to note is you'll need to work quickly since we're scooping the Glitter Paste out of the container it's going to start drying in the air.
I moved onto my coloring while I let my background dry. I stamped the images in Intens-ified Black ink and then colored them in with Copic markers. Once finished I used the coordinating die cuts to cut them out. I also used the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies to cut out a white circle for my images to sit on. I added my background to a white card base after trimming it down to 4" x 5.25" so I would have a white border.
I added the circle with foam adhesive and then adhered all my other images flat using Precision Glue. In order to help the images pop I added a bit of white gel pen and some Crystal Clear Lacquer for some shine.
I hope this card inspires you to play around with colors that remind you of your own childhood! Thanks for joining me!
