My Perfect Scoop!

Good morning! Emily Midgett with you today for some punny Valentine's Day inspiration using the Food Puns stamp set. I know, I know; most of us are still waist-deep in Christmas preparations, but in case you want to get a head start on your Valentines.... well, I'm here for you! There are some super cute sentiments in there, and they make for perfect Valentines, especially for kids! Kids love a good pun, and mine will love this one. Let's get started with the details!

To start, I stamped two ice cream cones from Food Puns using Intense Black ink on some Copic-friendly white card stock. I then colored the cones using my Copic markers, adding a bit of white gel pen to add some shine on the cherry at the top of each cone, and fussy cut them. I also stamped the punny greeting on a strip of white card stock using Intense Black ink.

Next, I used Fresh Peach ink with some blender brushes to lightly blend towards the bottom of my peachy-pink card front. This helps create a bit of a "ground" for my ice cream cones, rather than allow them to float randomly on the card front! I adhered the ice cream cones and sentiment strip (which I mounted on a strip of silver glitter paper slightly larger than my sentiment strip) using dimensional foam adhesive. I also stamped a few hearts from the Food Puns set using the same ink color for a subtle, tone-on-tone look.

The final touch was to fill out any bare spots in the little cluster with some drops Crystal Lacquer

Well, that's all for me today! I think this will be perfect for one of my kiddos for Valentine's Day. What 5 year old wouldn't love a good ice cream pun? Maybe with a gift card to get some frozen yogurt? So cute.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a marvelous weekend!
