Mum Flower Watercolor Cards in Two Ways
Today I have quick and easy watercolor cards to share with you all – I went out of my comfort zone to create kind of messy(?) watercolor cards. ;) I used the same watercolor technique but stamped the image with a different ink.
For my first card, I stamped the Mum Flower image with black waterproof ink on the cold pressed watercolor paper. Then I wet my paper with water and loosely colored my image and background using watercolors.
After drying the first layer of watercolor, I added more pigment to my image for interest. Next, I added ink splatters in two colors and stamped the sentiment from the Irreverent Birthday Messages stamp set.
For my next card, I stamped the image with watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After watercoloring my image and the background, I added the ink splatters and stamped the sentiment from the Irreverent Birthday Messages stamp set in black.
Don’t you love the airy feeling of my watercolored flower? I don’t think there is right or wrong when it comes to watercoloring.
I trimmed my watercolor panel into smaller than 4″x5″ and mounted it on the 4″x5″ card base using foam tape to add dimension.
Which card do you like better? I hope my cards inspired you to make a card with the loose watercoloring technique. Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!
