More Art Deco Inspiration!
Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have a card using some of the new products from the 2019 Catalog, as well as that gorgeous new Vintage Window Fancy Die. Let's get started with the details!
I began by stamping several of the water lilies and the dragonfly from the new Color Layering Dragonfly stamp set using Intense Black ink on Copic-friendly card stock, then coloring them with my Copic markers and die cutting them with the coordinating Frame Cuts. I also added some Wink of Stella to the wings of the dragonfly to help create that ethereal iridescence of the dragonfly's wings.
Next, I die cut the new Vintage Window Fancy Die from some of the new Pitch Black card stock. I thought the Art Deco feel of the Vintage Window die perfectly matched the aesthetic of the dragonflies. For the background, I used blender brushes to blend Aegean, Summer Sky, and Aquatic inks to create a loose pond/sky background.
I adhered the black frame to the blended panel using liquid adhesive, then added the dragonfly and water lily die cuts using dimensional foam adhesive. I also stamped a greeting from the Color Layering Dragonfly onto a strip of white card stock and added that with some foam adhesive.
Well, that's all for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!
I love this card! Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing it.
Stunning Emily, your cards are always fantastic. I love the great Vintage Window Fancie Die you used in black and that therefore standing out to the awesome background. The colours from the flowers and dragonfly together with the black and the background colours are a feast for the eyes.
Thank you so much for showing.
Wow! Beautiful card! I love the watery deco art feel to the card.
Beautiful card!! :)
Your copic coloring is amazing. I am new to the craft and this really inspired my creativity!
