Video: Mixed Texture Mixed Media

Hi friends! I'm here today to talk about just how much texture stamps can add to even the simplest cards – and how you can get a lot of interest with just one color of ink in this case  Caramel Core Ink. I've also created a video tutorial that you'll find at the end of this post.

To start with, I used 1" Post-it ® tape to mask off all the edges of a 4" x 5.25" card panel. Next, I ink blended Caramel ink into the opening with a blending brush, making one panel about twice as dark as the other.

Then, also using Caramel ink, I stamped all the super fun images from the new Mixed Textures set on top of the ink – sometimes stamping full strength, sometimes stamping off once to create foreground and background textures. I tried to cover the whole ink blended area with pattern.

As a finishing and very subtle touch to the background, I added the new Rough Dots Bold Prints stamp inked in Unicorn

Aren't those subtle dots on top of all that texture dreamy?

The next step was to stamp in Intense Black on top of it – and don't miss my tip in the video for overstamping – and color with colored pencils. The butterfly is from Beautiful Butterflies and the carrot is from Keep it Fresh. The sentiments on each are from Besties

I did add little white highlights with a paint pen on both.

Watch the video tutorial below or here on YouTube.

See how much you can do with one ink and one stamp set? So many possibilities!

Thanks for stopping by today – stay crafty!
