Mix and Match Stamp Sets to Create a Cozy Holiday Scene

Rachel Kleinman

Part of what makes Hero Arts stamps so amazing is the ease in which they can mix and match. This is Rachel Kleinman joining you all today to share a cute little holiday scene using a huge variety of stamp sets from multiple different releases.

How cute is that little mouse in his winter cape? If I'm counting correctly, I used 7 different stamp sets to put together this card. It was so fun to go through my stash to pick and choose what might work for a holiday deisgn.

I started by stamping all my images with Intense Black Ink and cutting them with the coordinating dies. The picture above separates the images by which stamp set they're from. So we have:

Now it's time to color! I used my Copics but you can use watercolors, colored pencils, other markers...whatever you want!

  • For the cape I used Copics in G07, G16, and G29.
  • The Santa hat and mouse sweater were colored with Copics in R24, R29, and R46.
  • The mouse himself was colored with W1, W3, and W5.

The coloring for the plushy chair was inspired by my upstairs couch of the exact same color :)

  • The chair uses Copics BG49, BG09, and B99.
  • The wood frame of the fireplace is colored in E27 and E79.
  • The marble is colored with T1 and T4, with the inside shaded with E07.

Now it's time to put the living room together. I really wanted wallpaper up in this room, and those bold Seaside Stripes from the June 2025 Cling of the Month are perfect stamped with Peony ink! For the "rug" look I stamped the Burlap Cling with Sand ink, then ink blended the edges with Fawn. To give the look of a baseboard, I just glued a strip of white cardstock between the wallpaper and the rug.

Arrange your finished images into the living room to create the perfect little cozy winter scene! For the 7th and final stamp set I used the Holiday Wishes sentiment is from the Holiday Season Messages set. I tried to mimic the color of the chair, so it's stamped first in Aquatic ink, and then again with Bermuda ink.

I hope you'll accept this sweet mouse's offering of a tasty candy cane! Thanks so much for stopping by. Don't be afraid to mix and match your Hero Arts sets -- that's what makes them so great!
