May My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!
Welcome back to our second post for the day! This post from Jayne is all about the original inspiration for this kit - Jennifer McGuire and Share Handmade Kindness. We partnered with Jennifer last fall to create products perfect for sharing an act of handmade kindness. These two products, [hero_product_link sku="CL911" text="Acts of Kindness"] and [hero_product_link sku="G6120" text="A Bit of Kindness"], pair perfectly with our May release. We donate 25% of the profits from these stamps to the Kind Campaign to support their efforts in ending bullying. Here's Jayne...
Hello, I have a few cards and gift card holders to share that I made using the beautiful [hero_product_link sku="CL911" text="Acts of Kindness"] stamp set that was created to support Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Challenge, encouraging crafters to share handmade kindness with someone.
For my first card, I masked and inked a circle on a piece of [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white layering paper"] with three colors of distress ink. I heat embossed a sentiment across the circle with [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white embossing powder"] and then I trimmed away two sections of the cardstock panel, one above and one below the inked circle. I repeatedly stamped a small message, at random positions, along both borders with [hero_product_link sku="AF223" text="Tide Pool"] ink. I layered the panel over an [hero_product_link sku="PS619" text="iris and lilac"] card base with foam adhesive. To finish, I added some confetti that I punched with a 1/2" circle punch, a purple satin bow, and a trio of adhesive pearls from the May kit.
For my next card, I started by die-cutting circles from masking paper, cutting each circle in half, and then placing them on cardstock to create banners. I inked over the full panel with distress inks, removed the masking paper, and then stamped a [hero_product_link sku="CL911" text="small heart"] on each flag. I created a circular sentiment panel that I inked before applying an embossed sentiment. Again, I embellished the sentiment with a trio of pearls from this month's kit.
And best of all, I used several images from the [hero_product_link sku="CL911" text="Acts of Kindness"] stamp set to decorate a pair of gift card envelopes that I created using a new die, available exclusively in the May My Monthly Hero kit. I love this awesome die and I hope that you do too! On one gift card envelope, I stamped a series of small hearts across the flap with [hero_product_link sku="AF227" text="Grape Juice"] ink, added a small sentiment at the lower corner, and then created a seal by embossing and die-cutting a round sentiment. For my second gift card envelope, after securing the gift card inside with an adhesive dot, I added a stamped and embossed, cardstock sleeve around the outside.
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek. There is so much more beautiful inspiration coming soon!
