Masked Ink Blending and Glitter Accents
Good morning, Jess here! Have you ever taken a ride in a hot air balloon? I've always wanted to and thought it would be so magical to take a ride at twilight and see the stars come out as you drift along. So, I decided to recreate that feeling in today's card...with a little extra sparkle, of course! ;)
To start I stamped the balloon and basket from Sky's The Limit Balloons with Intense Black ink on Dove White cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut with the coordinating dies. I also die-cut clouds from the Nesting Clouds and Nesting Cloudy Infinity Dies. I used Precision Glue to add a little liquid adhesive to the top of the clouds and balloon and sprinkled them with Snowfall Glitter. I set those aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
Next I took a panel of Dove White cardstock and masked off a little bit of the left side and a lot of the right side. It left an area about 2/3rds of the panel. I blended Navy, Indigo and Summer Sky ink across the panel and let it dry before splattering it with white paint. I removed the masking paper and let it dry completely. While it was drying I stamped the sentiment onto Pitch Black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. Finally I adhered the clouds, basket, and sentiment with Precision Glue and used foam mounting tape to add my balloon.
I don't even know if it's possible to go for a hot air balloon ride at night but I hope that my card gives you an idea of what it would be like! ;) Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Yes your card does give one the feel of hot air ballooning at twilight. We could pretend it is nearing the end of the ride. lol A friend & I were going to do this for our 50th, but when I found out I had to stand for 1 1/2 hours in the basket, I had to bow out as I’ve lost the fat pads on the bottom of my feet so it just wasn’t possible. So disappointed! But, I still like to imagine all the things I’d see if I was in one when tI see pictures of them. Thanks for the card Jess & I love the colours you used for the balloon & the sky. I’m a “blue” lady. :)
