Making a Background Stencil Shine - 2 Ways

Oct 29, 2024 Rachel Kleinman
Hello creatives! This is Rachel Kleinman from rwkrafts.com and I'm so excited to share some tips using the new Circular Grid Stencil from the October Hero Studio release.
Today I have two winter holiday cards that feature the Circular Grid Stencil. This stencil is a fantastic addition to your collection, as it can truly be used for ANY. OCCASION!
Of course, that Peeking Winter Bear is adorable, too! I started with a panel of Dove White cardstock and placed the Circular Grid Stencil on top. Using my medium blending brushes, I blended Pool Party and Blue Hawaii Reactive Inks over top. Without moving the stencil, I then randomly added some Icelandic Hero Wax over top. I didn't completely fill the stencil with wax, just bits and pieces to add shine.
I really love the look of mixing inks with the wax! I cut the Wood Frame Infinity Die from Mist cardstock to border the edges. The Peeking Winter Bear matches so well with these wintery colors. He is die cut from Dove White and Periwinkle cardstock. The snowflakes are from the Snowflake Pattern Cover Plate, cut from Adriatic cardstock. Of course, I naturally had to add some Glitter Paste to make them pop.
My second card features the same Circular Grid Stencil, but this time I blended it with Pale Tomato and Cranberry ink, then some random additions of Berry Hero Wax. The center image is from the Coloring Layering Holly Branch Bundle, inked in Espresso, Cherry, and Forever Green.
The sentiments for both cards are from the Joyful Christmas Messages Bundle (I haven't put this set away since I got it...(I will use it all season long!) And this festive card was backed on some Pesto cardstock.
Thank you so very much for stopping in! Happy stenciling!
