Love Little Heart Cards
As Valentine's Day approaches, love is in the air! And yet, there are so many occasions every year to make and send cards with love sentiments. I've created a set of love themed cards for anniversaries, weddings, and birthdays, or Valentine's Day, using the beautiful stamp from the 2016 Valentine's Collection.
To create these cards, I started by stamping the sentiment in a floral shade of. Using a stamp positioner, I repositioned the stamp so that it was offset from the first image. Then, I stamped the sentiment a second time in ink. The overlapped images create a colorful and fun shadow behind the sentiment. To complete the message, I added a small sentiment from the set. To soften the design, I stamped a cascade of flowers and leaves, from the Color Layering For You Flowers set (CL944) from the new 2016 Catalog, along the left edge of the card. This is a wonderful floral set and it will be available in the Hero Arts online store on February 8th. Yay!
By simply changing ink colors, it's easy to personalize each card. Sometimes, less is more ... so I kept my first card clean and simple. I stamped the elements with ink and then added a few, scattered .
By simply changing several small details, my second card looks very different. This time, I used ink and I wrapped the stamped panel with satin ribbon. For a tiny bit of flair, I added a heart charm that I made by stamping and fussy-cutting the "o" from the stamp.
Each card gave me the opportunity to use different embellishments from my collection of supplies. I stamped this card with ink and then wrapped the panel twice with black twine that I threaded through a pink button before tying a small bow.
And finally, for a splash of vibrant color, I stamped my last card with ink and added a large, purple, seam-binding bow. A trio of tiny gems also adds a bit of sparkle to this final design. I hope that you're inspired to share some "love" with a few handmade and heartfelt cards. Wishing you a wonderful and crafty day,
