Let's Use Small Stamps to Add Details to Die Cuts
Hello Hero Arts friends, it is Creative Team member Natasha here today to share a creative way to use the small stamps in your sets to add details to die cuts! Today's card features the new Your Day Messages stamp set. This set is so fun and has creative messages that can be used all year long! Today I am using this set to create a graduation card. So let's get started!
I started by creating the background for my card. I make a gelli print background using Hero Arts Core Inks. I used the following colors on my gelli plate: Mist, Paradise, Bermuda, and Butter Bar. I place the ink directly onto my gelli plate, then use a brayer to soften the lines between the colors. I then place the paper directly to the gelli plate and pull the print. I continue to add colors to the gelli plate and pull prints until I have the textures and colors I am looking for. I just love the Hero Arts Core Inks and the texture and color you can achieve.
Once the background was complete, I used the Hooray Birthday Cover Plate to die cut the background panel. I left some of the die cut dots in the background panel. Next I trimmed the panel using the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies. I then applied Black Hero Wax to several of the edges using my finger. Once the wax was dry, I applied Embossing & Watermark Ink to the sides with the wax, then applied Gold Iridescent Embossing Powder. I heat set the powder with my embossing gun. I love the effect this gives the wax! I then die cut a piece of Paradise cardstock and inked the panel with Bermuda Core Ink using a blending brush. Once the panel was inked, I adhered this to a top Top Folding Card Base using Precision Glue. I then added splatters to the cover plate panel using Gold Glimmer Metallic Ink. Once this was dry I adhered this to the card front as well.
Next I started to work with the Number 0, 2, and 4 Fancy Dies. I used the same Core Inks and created an ink smooshed background. Once the background was created I die cut the numbers 0, 2, and 4 from the background panel using the Hero Arts Compact Cutter. I then die cut additional layers of each number using Dove White cardstock and a layer using the Glitter Paper Basics (Black). Next I started to work on the top layer for each number using the Your Day Messages stamp set. I chose one of the small stamps from the set and stamped the image in various sections of each number using Embossing Watermark Ink. I then applied Gold Iridescent Embossing Powder to the numbers and heat set the powder. Once all of the numbers were complete, I applied more Black Hero Wax and Gold Iridescent Embossing to sections of each number. I then darkened the edges using Pitch Black Core Ink. I adhered all the layers together using Precision Glue. I offset the numbers a bit to create a shadow layer with the black glitter paper.
Next I stamped the sentiments from the Your Day Messages stamp set onto my ink smooshed background panel and stamped the sentiments using Intens-ified Black Ink. I trimmed the sentiments using my paper trimmer. I then added Gold Iridescent Embossing Powder to the edges of each sentiment. I then stamped the heart from the Your Day Messages stamp set onto the background. I completed my card by adhering the numbers using Precision Glue.
I had so much fun creating this card!
Very creative and neat looking, Natasha. So artsy. It looks great!
