Layered Heat Embossing
Good morning! Jess here with a fun way to layer heat embossing for dimensional, textured results!!
I just love the adorable Foam Animals add-on set from this month's kit! I wanted to use the little pup to create foam for my coffee and I wanted it to be dimensional but still keep the lines of the stamp. So to start I die-cut the dog with white cardstock using the coordinating dies, squirted a little of the lacquer from our lacquer pen onto the panel, and spread it around evenly with a rubber paintbrush (then I immediately washed the brush). Then I sprinkled it with white puff embossing powder and heat-embossed it. Since the lacquer was spread in a thin layer the resulting puff was more even instead of super puffy which was exactly the look I was going for. Once the puffy embossing powder was cool to the touch I stamped the dog onto the die-cut image with Versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. It results in a softer, not so crisp, image but it was perfect for a "foam" animal.
Next I stamped the coffee cup from Foam Animals onto white cardstock and masked off the inside of the cup. Then I stamped over the cup with the Mandala Bold Prints cling stamp to create a pattern on my cup. I colored the design with Copics and then fussy cut the cup. Next I blended Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink onto a piece of cardstock and spritzed it with water. I stamped the sentiment from Foam Animals onto the blended panel with Versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I added a little shading under the cup with a Copic marker and then adhered the cup and foam pup with foam mounting tape. To finish the card I added a tiny bit of pink to the pup's paw and ears with a cheap permanent marker (I didn't want to mess up my Copic tips on the rough embossing powder) and then added a little Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to the pink parts of the cup!
I really love how this turned out. I'm not a morning person (at all) but I think I could be a little happier in the morning if I had that cute pup waking me up in my coffee cup! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!

I like how you colored the pink areas in the cup. You didn’t blend the colors, and it looks really great. I have never tried that. I have been trying to learn to blend well. But I like how yours is very rough. LOOKS GREAT>
