June My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

It's time for our next countdown peek! The June My Monthly Hero kit will be available on Monday, June 3 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let’s join Emily, who is sharing another look at this wonderful kit!

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing another peek into this month's fantastic My Monthly Hero kit! This month, we're focusing on all things jungle! I have a super vibrant project for you today featuring some of the new Reactive Inks, as well as one of the woodgrain frames released last month, so let's get started with the details!

To begin, I created the super vibrant background by blending Thistle, Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, and Key Lime Fizz inks on a panel of white card stock. I then splattered the blended panel with some water droplets to take advantage of the reactive properties of the ink and create a bit of textural interest to my background. I also added a few spritzes of Shimmer Spray for some sparkle. 

Next, I stamped a multitude of images from the June My Monthly Hero kit using the new Intense-ified Black ink (included in this month's kit), including lots of foliage, the tree branch, and a little monkey to sit on the branch. I colored them with my Copic markers (using more green Copics than I've ever used in one sitting before, ha!), adding touches of fuchsia and hot pink to tie into the Thistle on the blended panel. I die cut a white woodgrain frame using the Wood Frame Infinity Dies. 

I adhered the white frame to the blended panel using foam tape, then arranged all of the die cuts, adhering them with foam tape as well. I also blended some more Green Apple and Key Lime Fizz inks on a piece of scrap paper and die cut some of the standalone vines from the My Monthly Hero kit to fill in some of the holes in the background. The last step was to add a sentiment stamped with more of the Intense-ified Black ink included in the kit on a strip of white card stock and tuck it in beneath the monkey on a branch.
