June My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

Jun 04, 2017 Hero Arts Info

Hello, we are back with our third and final day of sneak peeks and ideas for our June My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons, leading up to the release on Monday, June 5th at 1pm eastern/10am pacific. We’ve been sharing inspiration for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend. In this post, Jayne shares several card designs that all feature stamps, dies and items from this month’s main kit!

If you’ve ever dreamed of going on a safari or you love visiting the zoo, then I think that you will adore the June My Monthly Hero kit! Packed with tons of wild animals, coordinating dies, and beautiful, mixed-script sentiment stamps, this kit is perfect for creating a variety of animal-themed cards. So, here’s a quick look at a few ideas for creating some of those fun cards.

To create my first card, I simply stamped many of the kit’s animal and tree stamps across a piece of white layering paper, using the three ink cubes that are also included in the kit – Just Rust, Moss, and Mulled Wine. The stamp set includes lots of smaller animal stamps which are perfect for filling in spacing gaps when creating stamped backgrounds.

For my next card, I used the coordinating dies to die cut a small collection of stamped animals that I arranged on a panel of the shimmery white cardstock included in the kit. I stamped the images with the Mulled Wine ink cube and secured them to the card with foam tape.

For this card, I used the Rectangle Infinity Dies to create a large, gray frame that I stamped with several giraffe and bird images, as well as two sentiments, with Charcoal and Black inks. Before securing the frame to the card with foam tape, I stamped several additional birds and added a die cut tree behind the window. I also added a pair of die cut images, stamped with Just Rust, in front of the window.

For my final card, I covered the top half of a card with the kit’s shimmery white cardstock. I added a beautiful die cut sunset that I cut with the kit’s sunset die. I cut the sunset from poppy layering paper, inked part of the die cut with Just Rust ink, and then layered it over a paper circle that I die cut from the kit’s gorgeous copper paper with the Circle Infinity Dies. I added a few trees, a pair of lions and an encouraging sentiment.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, June 5th, before the kit launches at 1pm eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check back later for additional inspiration!
