Today we're delighted to have Creative Team member Jayne Nelson here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the add-ons.
Today I’m excited to be sharing two encouragement cards, full of summer vibes, that I created with a few of this month’s beachy add-on products. I’ll "dive right in" with the details.
For my first card, I started by creating a watercolor background on a panel of Luxe White Watercolor Paper with Blue Raspberry, Splash, and Blue Hawaii inks. Starting at the top, I simply smooshed the watercolor paper into wet ink on a craft mat. I repeated this several times to get the desired effect, drying my paper with a heat gun between applications. Once the completed panel was dry, I secured it to a panel of Adriatic cardstock with foam tape.
To create the messages, I applied the same inks onto three pieces of Dove White cardstock with a blending brush. After the ink dried, I stamped messages from the new Sea Quotes Bundle with Clear Embossing Ink and then embossed each message with White Embossing Powder. I cut each sentiment with its coordinating die and then secured them to the card with foam tape. To enhance the underwater theme, I embossed and die cut a cute pair of fish from the Hello Fishes Bundle onto Peacock cardstock, trimmed the tails, and then glued the fish to the panel with Precision Glue. I also scattered a few Aqua Enamel Dots across the card.
For my second card, I positioned the Listen to the Sea Stencil over a panel of Mist cardstock and then inked over it with Splash, Blue Hawaii, and Nautical inks. Using a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die to cut a small rectangle from the lower right side of the card, I created a recessed window by securing the original stenciled panel to a card with foam tape, and then gluing the small, die-cut rectangle directly to the card.
To embellish the card, I stamped one fish and some small bubbles from the Hello Fishes Bundle with Intens-ified Black ink onto white cardstock. Then, I colored and die cut each image. I also embossed a sentiment from the Everyday Sentiment Strips set onto Pitch Black cardstock and trimmed it easily with the Sentiment Strips Fancy Die. I glued both the fish and the sentiment over the recessed panel. For a final detail, I added three Sunset Enamel Dots to the finished card.
