Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.
Happiest of New Years friends! I’m Debi Adams and I’m thrilled to be ushering in another fabulous My Monthly Hero Add-On collection for January 2021. As always, it’s exciting to see what the Hero Arts in-house artists and designers have drawn up especially as we enter a new season of change. As many of you may have already noticed, our theme for this month is bees. Pretty fascinating creatures who appear to be quite productive so I tried to imitate that with my work this month. Lol. I have two cards to show you today.
Can I just say how much I love these daisies! There is something quite happy about them and I am so there!
The top part of the Dove White card (3 1/4” x 5 1/2”) was stamped with the big daisies, small daisies and bitty daisies from the Bee the Queen stamp set using Intense Black Ink in a random fashion and then colored in with various shades of yellow and gray Copic markers. I stamped the “hello” sentiment on the top of the card and then stamped, colored and die-cut those adorable bees and attached them to the card front using foam dots. A tiny strip of yellow cardstock was attached to the bottom of the white card. To create a pattern for the bottom of the card, I simply embossed the Peek-A-Boo Honeycomb Fancy Die onto Pitch Black cardstock instead of cutting it out. This requires a rubber mat on the bottom, the cardstock on top of that, cut blade side of the Peek-A-Boo Honeycomb Fancy Die facing down and then an embossing plate on top. Run it through your die-cutting machine and it embosses instead of cuts! Assemble card onto a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” side-folded card and you’re done!
For my second card, I used the Bees and Flowers Bold Prints with Intense Black Ink for my background, coloring some of the images in with Copic markers. To break up the design I die-cut smaller sizes of the new Hexagon Infinity Dies from white and yellow cardstock so they layered together. I stamped the sentiment using Intense Black Ink onto the coordinating Dove White hexagon shape that goes into the center, larger hexagon. Adhering all the hexagons down the center of the card, I stamped and embellished two daisies from the Bee the Queen and Frame Cuts set and four leaves from the Bee and Flowers Wreath and Frame Cut sets and attached them to card using foam dots and adhesive. Pretty sweet seeing how all the different sets from this month’s launch work so well together.
Hoping I inspired you to create something bright and happy for the New Year!

This is by far one of the best releases you have done. These bees are so cute and the great thing about this entire stamp set and all the add ons and additional products is that we can use them year-round to remind people about the plight of bees. Your designers did an amazing job. Thank you so much for this fantastic set.
