It’s a Winter Wonderland!
Our October My Monthly Hero Kit featured some great (and timeless, too!) add-ons! Today I’m using one of them, Circle Confetti Fancy Die, to create a background for my Winter Wonderland Snowglobe card.
Using glitter on Holiday projects is a must for me these days so I decided to layer a sheet of silver glitter paper under the circle confetti die cut to create beautiful shimmery snow. This die cut, by the way, can be used all year round. Think about these small circles as little rain drops; you can mount blue paper in the background or blend ink through the die cut or even apply texture paste and use this die cut piece as a mask or a stencil.
I had a lot of snowglobe die cuts left over from the snowglobe cards I shared on my blog the other day. I saved them all and here I used one to house a little scene. First I stamped the tree line in Field Greens ink, next I layered two more trees using Forever Green and Cup O' Joe, these trees came from another stamp set, Winter Scene.
Next I stamped and die cut a Christmas tree, I used green ombré here; a bench – I used Soft Brown and a lamp post, which was stamped using black ombré ink. You can also spot some tiny snow falling above the trees, I used Silver pigment ink to stamp the snow and also the little snowman.
To add definition to my snowglobe I heat embossed its edge using Silver embossing powder. The same powder was used for my sentiment, Winter Wonderland.
To create the base of this snowglobe I used silver glitter paper, same one I layered under the confetti die cut. Lastly I added some red and white bakers twine for a much needed pop of red.
Happy cardmaking!
