In the Details

l'm all about the little details in cardmaking. Even if a card looks super simple, I always like to stick some tiny, extra little detail in to keep my interest piqued. Today's card has that tiny little detail, which might not be obvious from the front, but has such a lovely impact when seen at different angles.

I started out by stamping the two butterflies, as well as a trail for each, from Everyday Icons, in Black on some Radiant White cardstock. After stamping, I used my craft knife to cut the sides of the butterflies wings, just far enough so that I could pull the wings a bit off the cardstock. Then I colored them with Strawberry and Dandelion liquid watercolors.

I stamped and heat embossed two sentiments from Support Prayers Love in White on Black cardstock, and trimmed them out. The sentiments were adhered to the stamped panel. I then popped some glitter paper scraps behind the butterfly wings, and adhered the panel to the card base on dimensional adhesive.

Isn't that glitter such a pretty touch?

A strip of black cardstock was also embossed in white using the Candy Stripe Bold Prints background to create a nice accent piece, and the card was topped off with some red gems.

There's so many cute little images in the Everyday Icon set that make it just perfect for spring, or any season, cards! See what clever ways you can come up to add your own little details. ;)
