Heat Embossing with Reactive Inks

Good morning! Jess here with a clean and simple holiday card in a non-traditional color palette! :)

I love the retro feel of this month's add-ons and decided to use a classic pink and aqua palette for my card. To start I inked the tree from Meowy Christmas using Taffy and Berry Smoothie Reactive inks. I kept the Taffy at the top of the tree and the Berry Smoothie at the bottom. One fun thing about the Reactive inks is that they dry a little slower than most inks so you can actually use them for heat embossing! So once I stamped the tree I quickly sprinkled it with Sparkle embossing powder and heated it for a sparkly pink finish! I also stamped my sentiment with Embossing and Watermark ink and heat embossed it with Black embossing powder.

Next I stamped the images from Meowy Christmas with Intens-ified Black ink and colored them with Copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I layered the presents and the cute kitty around my tree and adhered them with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape for a little dimension.  Finally I added a little Copic coloring to the balls on the tree and topped them with a layer of Crystal Clear Lacquer for a little extra shine! And that's it!  Simple, sparkly, and there's a cat...so it's perfect for me! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!

Gotta love a pink tree. I see them every so often. One year we had a decorated d in a pink tree. ( four daughters, how could I not?). I made pink bows with stiffener starch, painted pint balls, decorated a bunch of gingerbread men with pink, along the edges. We couldn’t find any pink lights, (quite a few years back this was), so we used red lights that we had forever. Because they were old, they glowed a dark pinkish/purple cause the red was burning out. I would say, the tree got 50% like a few, “whys”, and a lot of male grumblings. Your tree ROCKS!
