Sweeter With Age
Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing my first post on the Hero Arts blog after my (very long) maternity leave! I had twin baby boys last spring, and took some time off to get my family settled into our new groove. I'm so grateful that Hero Arts gave me the time that I needed with my family! I'm getting back into the swing of things, creatively speaking, and am so excited to share on the Hero Arts blog again. Today's project features some of the new dies from this year's very first My Monthly Hero release: Honey Pot Fancy Dies and Bees and Flowers Fancy Dies. Let's get started with the details!
I began by die cutting the Honey Pot Fancy Dies and Bees and Flowers Fancy Dies from some watercolor paper, then used Mulled Wine, Dandelion, Moss, and Pink Liquid Watercolors to add color to the individual die cuts. I wanted to create a bit more muted color palette, so I used Mulled Wine to calm some of the bright colors down.
While the watercolored die cuts were drying, I die cut a white frame using the Hexagon Infinity Dies. I adhered it to a Pebble A2 card base using Precision Glue, then arranged and adhered the honey pot and floral die cuts to the card front using foam adhesive. For the honey bees, I used a black pen to add details to the stripes and legs, then added some glitter to the wings with a sparkle pen.
I stamped a greeting from You're Top Tier on a strip of Peony cardstock using black ink, then die cut a "honey" from some Pitch Black cardstock. The final step was to add some Neutrals Enamel Dots to fill in any blank areas of the arrangement.
Well, that's all for my project today! I'm so glad to be back creating regularly. Thank you for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!

Love your card.
Congratulations on having twins and I am glad you are back. I am in love with this card and will use it for inspiration for my honey pot and flowers fancy dies card. I just die cut them out and needed seeing your awesome card to go ahead and color them.
This is so pretty!!
Welcome back! I am glad you were able to spend time with your new little ones. The card is lovely.
