Fun with Flowers

We are 120 degrees into summer where I'm at, so that calls for a picnic basket. Instead of food, let’s pack it with flowers. Stamped AND hand sketched. So get out your watercolors and black pen and let’s play.

I began die cutting the Paper Layering Basket from an old quilted coffee holder from our favorite coffee house. Next, I stamped the Bandana Bold Prints on a diagonal with VersaMark Ink on a Foliage Folded Card for a faint, tone on tone background. Then you can either stamp the flowers from Blossoms for Coloring in Black Ink and watercolor in, or play a little like I did! Splash some loose color on white paper for leaves and flowers. Let dry thoroughly and then sketch some images. Die cut or hand cut.

Mount them all together for a grand bouquet. I love the look of mixed stamped AND drawn images in the basket.

And since I am in flower mode, let’s not forget our fun Fiesta Fringe Fancy Die. Find a lightweight paper and die cut it 3-4 times. Roll each piece on a toothpick or skewer to get the curl then wrap around a straw or dowel in a circular pattern. Before you know it, you have a hyacinth! Add fresh leaves and voila!!

I hope my flowers brightened your day a little!

What a nice basket of flowers! Great idea on the quilted coffee sleeve. I have some coffee sleeves saved to make something, not sure what. Nice flower.

Sally your card is certainly Fun with Flowers, what a gorgeous idea. And I love your hyacinth, this is one that will remain despite all the heat. Thanks for showing.
