Frosty Fun with Warm Friends
Hi stampers! Nichol here today with a frosty fun card featuring the adorable new Warm Friends stamp set and coordinating Frame Cuts dies. I paired these cuties with the Snowflake Edge Fancy Die, Holidays Word Fancy Die, and Stacking Snowflakes stamp set. The snowflake border provides a great place to "ground" the sentiment and tuck the Warm Friends behind. The stamped Stacking Snowflakes provide continuity in the upper part of the design as well as highlight and frame up the Warm Friends!
To start the design, I inked a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock with Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. Once the ink was dry, snowflakes from the Stacking Snowflakes stamp set and Warm Friends stamp set were stamped with Versamark Ink and then embossed with Silver Sparkle, White Puff, and Sparkle embossing powders around the upper edge and down both sides, overlapping the designs for interest. The multi-colors of embossing powder add to the frosty look of the design.
A Snowflake Edge Fancy Die border was die cut from both smooth white cardstock and vellum, layered and adhered along the bottom edge of the panel with foam adhesive.
The Holidays Word Fancy Die was die cut from blue glitter cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive to make it dimensional. The sentiment was adhered along the bottom edge of the design, trimming any excess off the bottom of the card. Additional greetings from the Warm Friends stamp set were stamped on gray cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the design as shown.
The Warm Friends were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Intense Black Ink and colored in with the Copic Marker color combinations shown below:
Bunny: W00, W3, R00, RV93, RV95, RV99
Bear: E40, E43, E44, E47, G82, G94, BG45, BG49, R35, R59
Reindeer: E40, E43, E44, E47, R00, B32, B34, B37, G82, G94, R35, R59
Cat: E11, E15, E19, G82, G94, R35, R59
The Warm Friends were die cut with the coordinating Frame Cuts dies and adhered to the design with foam adhesive, tucking them under the snowflake border. Eyelashes were added to the bunny and reindeer with a fine tip black pen. The critters were finished with white and black gel pen detail.
I hope this has inspired you to mix and match your supplies for fun card designs! Have a great day!
