Hello and welcome to our third Friend Friday with Chameleon! We are honored that they’ve asked us to collaborate with them this month. Our artists will show creations each Friday this month, colored with the fabulous Chameleon pens – and over at their blog, the Chameleon design team is coloring Hero Arts images, too! What fun! And of course there are prizes involved, woohoo! Keep reading to the end of this post for more information. Now let’s join Clare as she shares a unique take on the amazing Chameleon pens!
While Chameleon pens are perfect for coloring images (especially for the coloring-impaired such as myself), they aren’t limited to just that. For my card today, I decided to use the pens to create an ombre look on my die cuts.
I used the Aqua Marine pen to color four Love word die cuts – I just love this ombre look! Any streaks you see on my coloring is because I’m a hurrier and I like to rush everything. If you want the streaky look, then by all means, work it! But if you want a smoother blend, take things a little slower.
After adhering my ombre colored die cuts, I die cut another word (and some hearts!) out of black cardstock that was heat embossed with Black Sparkle embossing powder. I adhered the love die cut onto a die cut foam piece for a little more dimension.
The sentiment (from the die’s coordinating stamp set) was heat embossed in White, cut out, and adhered to the base, along with those sparkly little hearts. ;)
I’m planning on making a set of these, making a card for each of the five different colors in the Cool Tones set. It will make such a great gift, and I can’t wait to try it on some more of the Hero Arts word stamp and cut sets!
Please be sure to visit the Chameleon website for more information, videos and inspiration. Today their talented designer Ekaterina Oleynik is creating with Hero Arts stamps. Be sure to head over to the Chameleon blog to check out their projects, and comment for a chance to win markers as well as some Hero Arts stamps!
Do you love to color? Let us know in a comment below, and we’ll enter you for a chance to win a $25 gift card card to the Hero Arts store! We’ll have a giveaway on each Friend Friday post, and winners will be announced in January.
Yes! Coloring is so relaxing, I need to do more of it.
