Follow Your Dreams

Emily Midgett

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some storybook inspiration (with a liberal dash of Disney influence ;) ) using some of the newest products from this month's release! I was on vacation during the My Monthly Hero launch for this month, so I was excited to dive into some of the add-ons for today's post. Let's get started with all of the details!

I began by trimming down a few small rectangular panels of white card stock. I wanted to create a kind of comic book feel with the Cinderella story, so I stamped a few little vignette scenes using stamps from the As You Wish stamp set and Intense Black ink. I colored all of the images using my Copic markers and blended a bit of Indigo ink around the edges very softly using blender brushes.

Once I had finished my little scenes, I die cut the Rose Bush Cover Plate die from some Dove White card stock. I then blended Rose Madder and Pine inks on the roses and foliage, respectively, using blending brushes.

I heat embossed the Cobblestone background onto a panel of Pebble cardstock using White Embossing Powder to create a nice, subtly pattered and textured backdrop for my vignettes. I carefully trimmed small sections of the blended roses and foliage die cuts, then added them to the corners to create some trailing vines of roses behind my vignettes. I adhered the vignettes to the card front using foam adhesive, then added a "follow your dreams," white embossed on a strip of Periwinkle card stock.

Well, that's all for my project today! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
