February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

MMH Countdown to Creativity

We’re back with idea #4 for using the the February My Monthly Hero release! The kit will be available on Monday, February 6th at 1pm EST/10amPST. We’ll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for more inspiration! This time Sally is here, sharing her fun and easy ideas for creating with this month’s kit.

This month’s kit is perfect for someone “under the weather!” Here’s a quick card to brighten someone’s day. I stamped rain drops from the kit’s stamp set in Summer Sky ink on Snow Layering Paper, then added the message in black. Brightly stamped and die cut umbrellas add a happy element for an uplifting card. And the clouds were die cut, then more Summer Sky ink was sponged on – there’s a handy little sponge included right in the kit!

I mentioned this month’s kit includes a sponge – there’s also a fun, new stencil! To be perfectly honest, I am not usually drawn to stencils, but this one really intrigued me. I love bright slick “wellies”, so I thought I could make some with this stencil. It took a bit of practice to achieve what I wanted, but after toying with post-it-notes and scraps to keep my stenciling area clean, I “booted it up” with the neon ink pads. The fun puddles I added around the boots are from an optional add-on stamp set this month called Fun in the Rain – the message is from that set, too. To finish the card, I added gems to give it a little sparkle.
