Fairies, Rainbows, and Unicorns - Oh My!
Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have some vibrant projects for you featuring some of the newest (and some older!) products from this month's release. I love adding black accents to colorful card fronts. The stark contrast makes things look so polished and clean, in my opinion. Let's get started with the details on my projects!
Both of my projects feature the new Magical Unicorn Bold Prints background stamp from the July 2021 release. I heat embossed it using silver embossing powder on two different A2 panels: one Dove White and one Lapis. The beautiful details on this background stamp are so much fun, and make such a unique background that you don't need to do too much to create a finished product!
On the silver embossed Lapis card base, I wanted to create a kind of glowing night sky background, so I blended some Purple Neon ink around the edges, leaving the center that gorgeous shade of blue. The overall effect definitely looks like the card base is glowing!
Next, I added some Pitch Black die cuts from the new release: Forest Vines Window Die and Mushroom and Ferns Fancy Die. I used a combination of Precision Glue and foam tape to create lots of dimension on my little vignette. I added a Copic-colored fairy from Fairy Kisses, along with a silver embossed sentiment from the same stamp set. I love how the ink blending around the edges makes it look like the fairy is glowing from within!
My second card lets the Magical Unicorn Bold Prints background be the star of the show. Using the new ink blending brushes, I blended Blue Neon, Purple Neon, Pink Neon, and Orange Neon inks at a diagonal on my embossed card front. I also spritzed the card front with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist, which I find helps the colors blend even more smoothly and adds that gorgeous shimmer to the background!
I wanted to keep the emphasis on the colorful, detailed background, so I die cut a Pitch Black "happy birthday" from the Birthday Stamp & Cut XL, and adhered it, along with a silver embossed sentiment strip, using foam adhesive for lots of dimension. A relatively simple card, but boy what an impact it's vibrant colors and shimmery goodness make!
Well, that's all for my projects today! I am absolutely in love with so many things from the July release. These sweet whimsical products make creating so much fun! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
