Everybody Gets a Gift Card!
It’s always good to keep a few gift card holders handy during the holidays! Today I will show you a few new ideas with a basic star and tag dies, plus one with a tree.
Let’s start with the 5-Point Stars Infinity Dies. I used the biggest one to cut my reindeer. I wanted to use felt but I had no brown, so I used cardboard and Sand cardstock. The dies from Wishing You Tree were used for the antlers, cut from glitter paper. Also the bulb die makes a great nose when punched from red felt and trimmed. I glued the two star layers together at the bottom and sides, so the gift card could slip into the top. Add giant google eyes for a whimsical look. Punch a tiny hole at the top and add a gold thread to hang.
On the white felt star I got out my machine and stitched the sides and bottom together. Again I used the branch die and cut two green branches from felt. Stamp out "from all of us" on a scrap and trim to a skinny rectangle. Glue onto star with branches and add three red enamel dots. Again add gold thread for a hanger. (When gluing on felt, it is best to use a hot glue gun, as liquid glue soaks in and won’t hold!)
Long live the Tag Infinity Dies! I use them all the time. I cut one tag from Granite cardstock then die cut Snowflake Corner Fancy Die from white glitter paper for the top layer. Carefully glue the edges on the tag and leave the “card” edge open. I added drops of Silver Hero Pearls and white enamel dots. Add a ribbon. You can adhere the snowflake edges with the dots to keep the gift card in place.
The Wishing You Tree stamps and die work well for the tree holder. First stamp the tree in black. Let it dry, then die cut. (TIP: If you have trouble getting a clean edge when die cutting felt, put a piece of paper underneath.) Glue to another layer with hot glue on the top and bottom. Leave sides open. Add enamel dots in every color. Add gold thread for hanger.
So have fun creating your card holders! They could also double as Advent calendar “holders”!
Happy Stamping!
