Enjoy the Journey
Hello! Tami here to share a card featuring the Enjoy the Journey stamp set. I hadn’t yet inked this set up, and let me tell you, it’s a fun one! It’s packed with a boatload of images and sentiments that make it super versatile. I mixed and matched several of them to create today’s card.
I started by gold embossing several images from the set — the wavy lines four times to create a frame, the ship, the waves, and the sentiment. Once the embossing was complete, I did some no-fuss loose watercoloring with Zig Clean Color brush markers, paying no attention to shadows or details. Slap on the color, and don’t overthink it. Sometimes the results are better than you might imagine!
I used the Rectangle Infinity Dies to cut a frame, which was popped up on foam tape above the tilted focal panel.
In addition to the gold embossing, this card features a lot of white embossing. To create an abstract, textured background I simply swiped the edge of the Unicorn White pigment inkpad diagonally onto the card base. Then I sprinkled white embossing powder on top and heat set it.
I like how it turned out and will be trying this with other cardstock and embossing powder combos. I think gold embossing on a dark background would look striking! One tip: Be sure to use a strong adhesive when adding any layers on top of the embossing. I used Tombow Xtreme tape runner.
Thanks for stopping by! The countdown to our August My Monthly Hero kit begins right here on the blog tomorrow and continues throughout the weekend. I hope you’ll check it out!
Have a wonderful day,
