Staycation Mimosas

Jessica Frost-Ballas

Good morning! Jess here with a bright and cheery card to wake you up using the Destination Home Bold Prints background stamp and some embossing resist with Reactive inks!

To start I used my MISTI to stamp the Destination Home Bold Prints stamp onto a panel of Hero Hues Dove White cardstock with Embossing & Watermark Ink.  Then I heat-embossed the panel with Clear Embossing Powder.  Next I used a blending brush to apply Reactive inks in Creamsicle and Lemon Drop to the panel.  Everything that's heat-embossed resists the ink so after I finish blending I take a soft cloth and buff the ink off the embossing to reveal the fun background! I added a few splatters of water to create some texture in the blending.

Next I stamped images from Gal Pal Brunch and the Destination Home Bold Prints stamp onto a Hero Hues Dove White cardstock with Versafine and heat-embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder.  I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies.  I also fussy cut the one tag I wanted from the Destination Home Bold Prints stamp.  I love that you can use individual tags from that stamp or the full background. And if you haven't take a moment to really look at the designs in that stamp! They crack me up!  I love the little tag with the dog! ;)

Then I stamped a sentiment from Gal Pal Brunch onto a panel of Vellum cut to 3.75" by 5" with versafine and heat-embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. I arranged my images around the sentiment and then adhered them.  Finally I used Liquid Precision Glue to adhere the vellum panel over my ink-blended background. Since the background is so busy the glue doesn't show through the vellum as much as it would on a plain colored background!

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed my card today and you can treat yourself to breakfast in bed with a mimosa or two someday soon! ;) Thanks so much for visiting and have a fabulous day!
