Easter Egg Ideas
Sally Traidman
The challenge was on… to do something for Easter using non-traditional Easter products. Challenge accepted! I reached for the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies to use for eggs, and several other dies for decorating the eggs.
First I wanted to do one simple large egg and tie a bow with the word tag, but it got addicting. Just like making REAL Easter eggs, they were so much fun! So first off I cut an egg from our beautiful Canary Hero Hues Premium Cardstock, then cut an overlay with the Flower Garden Fancy Die from Amethyst cardstock. Once the egg was together, I stamped the message from Hero Greetings Sending Smiles in Grape Juice ink, and tied it on with gingham ribbon - isn't the gingham sooooo Easter-ish? I mounted it all on a card created from Lavender cardstock.
Now was the next challenge... how could I use other things to make the eggs different? As you see, I used several dies and many bright colors to decorate the eggs. I first stamped the Flower Garden Bold Prints background in Green Apple ink on a Dove White Side Folded Card. Then I cut a piece of grass with the Fiesta Fringe Fancy Die! Cut lots of eggs with smaller ovals and decorated with the Flower Garden Fancy Die and Decorative Edge Fancy Die. And check out how I used the tiny “fall out” pieces from the edge die on a few of the eggs. Gold foil behind the holes looks great too. Add gems and mount with foam tape in a pleasing fashion.
So "hop" along now, and get some Easter cards made… I just gave you some "egg"-cellent ideas!!!
