December My Monthly Hero is Here! + Giveaway!

It is time again to bring you the launch of this month's December My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons! Our Creative Team has been busy using these products this month and we think you will enjoy them as much as they have. And at the end of the post you will find links to a blog hop that will provide plenty of inspiration using this month's kit and add-ons.

A magical journey awaits you with the December 2017 My Monthly Hero kit. The stamp set is filled with a variety of images, coordinating Frame Cuts, a Fancy Die and sentiments that make it easy to create beautiful scenes. Whether you like to color or just stamp there are images for you. And to make it even easier we have included 5 ink cubes that are exclusively available in this kit – rich jewel tones that are perfect for these images. The stencil can be used to make a beautiful background. And glitter stickers will add just the right amount of shine to your projects.

 This month's kit contents include:

6" x 8" Clear Stamp Set
12 Coordinating Frame Cuts Dies
1 Fancy Window Die
5 ink cubes (Exclusive colors only available in this kit - Sapphire, Teal Topaz, Pink Tourmaline, Ruby, Tiger's Eye)
5.25" x 6.5" Stencil
Assortment of glitter stickers

This kit is an incredible deal with so many goodies that the value is nearly $80 but the cost to you is $34.99!

We also have some terrific, optional add-on products this month - 3 stamp sets, coordinating dies, 4 Fancy Dies, 3 background stamps, 1 woodblock stamp, 4 new inks and a modeling paste. That's a lot of fun new products! You can buy them individually but if you buy them all here? You save almost 11%!

Let's get started with the Make a Wish clear stamp set and the coordinating Make a Wish Frame Cuts. These genie images would be so fun to color and the Frame Cuts make them easy to use.

This next stamp set, Magical Nights Messages, is the perfect complement to the kit and the Make A Wish set. It gives you lots of messages to use on your cards. It also has some fun silhouette images.

Next up is the Ornate Henna Patterns stamp set. This set will make beautiful cards or you can stamp them on skin using our 4 new Henna inks, Onyx, Lapis, Scarab and Amber. They are skin safe inks that can be used for a fun, temporary look!

Our new woodblock stamp, Henna Flower Pattern, is also a great stamp to use with the new Henna inks. A great size to use on your card or on the back of your hand (or wherever you choose to stamp it!)

We also have three new background stamps starting with the Filigree Pattern Bold Prints stamp. Stamp it, heat emboss it. No matter how you use it you will get a beautiful, dramatic look. You can see this stamp in action on a card that Amy made here

The Floral Tile Bold Prints stamp is one that you will find yourself reaching for often. Such a pretty image that can be used many ways. Color in the star images for an extra special look.

Mandalas are very popular right now - from fashion to home decor to crafting. This large Mandala Bold Prints stamp will quickly become one of your favorite stamps.

Moving on to Fancy Dies, we have four this month! First up is the Gems Confetti Fancy Die  that you can use to create a striking background.

The City Skyline Fancy Die makes it easy to create a unique backdrop on your card. Ilina used it here and the black against the purple background is really stunning.

The detail in the Filigree Border Fancy Die is gorgeous, isn't it? Use it to cut once or twice to frame the edges of a card.

Our last die is the Old World Courtyard Fancy Die. We think it makes such an inviting entrance that we wish we could walk right through it!

Our final add-on for the month is an 8 ounce jar of The Crafter's Workshop Modeling Paste. If you have never used a modeling paste before you will find that it is an easy way to add dimension to your projects. You can use it many ways, including spreading it over a stencil, adding color to it and simply creating a texture on your card.

Our Creative Team member, Jayne, is stopping by to give us some inspiration.

Jayne: This month's kit has so many wonderful, exotic images, it has me dreaming about a vacation in paradise! To make my card,  I started by applying a thin layer of modeling paste across the kit's gorgeous stencil onto a piece of white cardstock. Before the paste dried, I covered the stenciled pattern with some glitter from my stash, tapping off the excess.

While this background dried, I stamped and die cut five palm trees with Caramel, Emerald Green, Navy and Rose Madder inks. I also embossed one of the kit's fun sentiments onto a strip of navy cardstock.

Next, I cut an oval from the center of the stenciled background with one of the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies. I secured both background pieces to a navy card base, adding dimension behind the oval with foam tape. I scattered the five, colorful palm trees across the raised oval and then added the sentiment to the center with foam tape. To finish, I added a few gems for even more sparkle.

Thank you so much Jayne for sharing your beautiful and colorful card.

This kit is really outside my comfort zone and way different to what I would usually choose for myself but I can’t wait for mine so I can try it out. Subscribed in November :D

  • Karen

I like most of the background pieces. The theme of the kit, not so much. Ok, not at all. I’m going to pass on this months kit. I just don’t see getting much use out it.

  • Debbie Fricke

I usually don’t excited about kits, but I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this kit!!! What a GREAT idea/theme and so many wonderful ways to use the products in the release.
