Creating Interesting Effects with Liquid Watercolors and Shimmer Sprays

Michelle Short

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share using the Flower Confetti Fancy Die, along with Liquid Watercolors and the White Iridescent Shimmer Spray to create an interesting background.

I started off with a piece of watercolour paper and applied a layer of clean water to this. Using Deep Ocean, Indigo and Moss Liquid Watercolors, I added colour to the panel letting the colours blend together. I let the panel sit for a few seconds and then sprayed on some of the White Iridescent Shimmer Spray, this created an interesting effect with the Liquid Watercolours and also gave the panel a lovely shimmer. Once dry, the piece was die cut using the Flower Confetti Fancy Die and the inside pieces popped out.

The Flower Confetti panel was then adhered to a white card base with liquid glue. Taking some Snow Layering Paper, I cut the smile die, from the Smile Stamp & Cut, three times and layered these up with liquid glue. This was added to the card with more liquid glue. I took the 'sending a' sentiment stamp from the set and stamped this with Versamark Ink on to black cardstock. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a strip and then added to the card with thin foam tape to complete the sentiment.

To finish off, I added a few sequins around the sentiment with liquid glue. I used two from the Seashore Mix and one from the Frost Mix. I really like how the background came out, I shall have to experiment more with mixing Liquid Watercolors with sprays.

Thank you so much for popping by today, happy stamping!
