Creating Depth in a Stamped Scene
Michelle Short
Hello there, Michelle here. Today I am sharing a card using the new Tea Time stamp set that was released as an add-on for the August 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit. It is a great set to create invitations or for general tea themed cards. Afternoon tea is very popular in the UK (which is where I am) and it was fun to create my own cake stand full of yummyness!
I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and stamped the images using Intense Black Ink. I stamped the tea cup first, masked this off and then stamped the tea pot. This was masked off too and then I stamped the food that will be on the cake stand, followed by the cake stand itself. This creates a one layer image but adds depth to the scene.
The images were coloured using Copic Markers and then I added in the table and background, also with Copic Markers, adding more colour to the left side, to create more depth in the scene.
The panel was cut down using the second largest die in the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies set and added to an A2 card base with foam tape. To finish off, I added highlights with a white gel pen and Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen to the red heart on the cookie.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, happy stamping!
This month, I actually bought this stamp and die set instead of the actual kit. My husband and I have really been loving finding places that do high tea and this set is just perfect! Thanks for showing an inspiring card!
Thanks! I have learned a new technique. Your work is pretty!
