Creating Cards with Versatile Sentiments
Hello friends! Welcome to the Hero Arts blog! Today we're talking about creating cards with versatile sentiments. How often have you gone to your card stash and discovered you don't have exactly what you are looking for? Yep, it has happened to me too. I have remedied that situation by building my card collection with broad sentiments.
Take today's From the Vault Travel project, for example. Had I used a birthday sentiment the card would have only been good for that single occasion. "Enjoy the Journey," on the other hand, can be used for a birthday, a graduation, a new career or home, etc... Leaving the interior of the card blank, until it is needed, provides the perfect opportunity to personalize the enclosed sentiment for any given individual or occasion. It can be stamped, printed, handwritten, or whatever method suits you best.
Create this project by ink blending Reactive Inks in Grape Slush, Blue Hawaii, Pool Party and Key Lime Fizz on an A2 smooth bristol or Dove White cardstock panel. Splatter with water and set aside to dry.
Stamp From the Vault Travel hot air balloon in Black Dye ink on Dove White cardstock and die cut along with three Infinity Nesting Clouds from Vellum. Cut an A2 Dove White panel diagonally, corner to corner. Pop diagonal panel over ink blending with dimensional adhesive. Strategically place clouds to hide adhesive behind diagonal panel or hot air balloon. Tuck in heat embossed sentiment and adhere Snowfall Glitter to cloud tops. Adhere a few Ombré Blue sequins for a final touch of sparkle.
Thank you for joining me today! I hope you've been inspired to create and maybe even mail a card or two!

This is a beautifully balanced card. Love the way the background hues have been done and those vellum clouds are so light and sparkly against the black and white. Fabulous xxxx

I like to do this, too. Neutral on the outside; a specific message on the inside. Super cute balloon card!

This is so beautiful – the white split reveals the possibilities for the future ‘blue skies’ – how perfect for that sentiment.
