Cozy Fall Gatefold Card with Pick of the Patch
Charlene Madrid
Hi crafty friends! Charlene here, and today I’m sharing a fun and colorful fall card that features the September Stamp & Cut of the Month: Pick of the Patch. This month’s set is packed with pumpkins, squashes, and gourds in all shapes and sizes — perfect for creating a cozy fall arrangement with lots of layering and dimension. I paired it with a vellum gatefold design and a wrapped belly band for an interactive twist!
To start, I stamped the base layer of all the elements using Moss, Dandelion, Papaya, and Raspberry Jam Core Inks. I die cut each shape with the coordinating dies, then used one of the negative die cuts as a jig in my stamping platform to easily stamp the detail layer over each piece. Intens-ified Black Ink adds bold definition and helps the shapes pop.
Next, I created my card base using a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of vellum. I scored at 2 1/8” and 6 3/8” along the long edge and folded the sides in to create a gatefold panel. For the inside, I die cut Dove White Cardstock using the second largest die in the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies, and adhered it with dry adhesive to the center of the vellum card base.
I then arranged and adhered several of the stamped pumpkins, squashes, and gourds to the front panels of the vellum card. I made sure some would be peeking out from the edges for added movement and interest.
To keep the card closed, I created a belly band using a 1” x 11” strip of Sand Cardstock. I wrapped the strip around the folded card and secured it to itself, then added a wrap of brown string for texture. To finish it off, I stamped the “Wishing You a Cozy Fall” sentiment (from the same Pick of the Patch set) in Intens-ified Black Ink, die cut it with the coordinating die, and adhered it to the center of the belly band.
This card is such a celebration of fall color, and I love how the vellum gatefold softens the look while letting those bright gourds shine! It would make a sweet note for a friend or even a festive place card at your autumn table.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy fall crafting!
