CommUNITY: Inspiration from Victoria Calvin
Hello! I'm Victoria Calvin and I am the owner and creative director at Victoria Marie Designs, where I create and teach online scrapbooking classes, host annual scrapbook retreats, and create video content on YouTube. I also host a growing group of crafters on Facebook, post content on Instagram, and I create exclusive videos and mini classes for my Patreon membership community. I have served on a number of design teams to include American Crafts, Kingston Crafts, Scrapbook and Cards Today, Tonic Studios USA, and Catherine Pooler Designs. Additionally, I have been a featured guest on the Simple Scrapper Podcast, Craft a Life You Love Podcast with Amy Tangerine, and Get It Scrapped with Debbie Hodge.
I have been a life-long crafter! As a child, I frequently raided my mom's craft supplies. Over the years, I have tried a variety of arts and crafts projects from embroidery, scrapbooking, cardmaking, sewing, watercolor painting, mix media art, and recently, I've been teaching myself how to make miniature dioramas. On most days, I can be found in my craft studio, working on several projects while binging Netflix or listening to my favorite playlists or podcasts on Spotify. Crafting is a major part of my life, both professionally and personally. I cannot imagine living in a world without fun craft projects!
Christmas is by far my favorite holiday of the year! So, for my projects, I created two cards that embody the spirit of the holidays and the winter season. Both cards were created using stamps and dies from the awesome Hero Arts Unity Collection, paired with other Hero Arts goodies to include the Bulb Ornament Infinity Dies, Paper Layering Poinsettia Dies, Holiday Peg Dolls Bundle, and the Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints stamp. I love coordinating a variety of elements from different collections to create fun card projects.
Lastly, I finished the card by positioning two small clusters of pink paper poinsettias at the top left and bottom right of the die cut image. A heat embossed sentiment strip from Holiday Peg Dolls Bundle was added and the panel was adhered to a 5" x 7" card base. I absolutely love using a variety of products to create holiday cards. I cannot wait to pop these cards in the mail and send them off to my friends!
Victoria, thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous cards and talent with us today! You can find more of Victoria's beautiful creations over on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or her blog.
