Combining Stencils with Stamped Images
Hello there, today I wanted to share a card I have made using the beautiful new Artistic Dahlia stamp. This is such a beautiful stamp that can be coloured in lots of different ways.
I first stamped the Artistic Dahlia on to a piece of white cardstock using Intense Black Ink and coloured it using Copic Markers. I knew that I wanted to add a background to the image but I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it. I decided to use a stencil to add a soft pattern. I stamped the dahlia again on to some mask paper and cut this out. I added it on top of the image and then placed the Floral Pattern Stencil on top of the cardstock panel. Using light layers, I then blended over Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky Distress Ink focussing most of the colour around the dahlia itself and to the top left and bottom right of the cardstock panel.
The sentiment, from the Birthday Messages stamp set was stamped in the bottom right hand corner with Intense Black Ink. The panel was then adhered to a white A2 card base made from Snow Layering Paper. To finish off, I added a scattering of clear sequins.
I really look the look of combining stencils with images and I will have to remember to do it again! Thanks so much for visiting the blog today, happy crafting!
