When was the last time that you made a card with kraft paper? I love the look of kraft cards but it's not one of my usual go-to colors. So today, for a change, I'm sharing a kraft card that features images from the beautiful, new Ornate Henna Patterns stamp set.
To make my card, I simply stamped several of the henna pattern stamps randomly onto a vertical panel of kraft paper with black ink. Then, I used a few colored pencils to color parts of each image. I especially like using a white pencil on kraft paper as it adds brightness to the final design.
Before securing the colored panel to the card base with foam tape, I matted the panel with white cardstock. Using a VersaMark pen, I embossed a narrow, gold stripe on each side of the white mat with brass embossing powder. It's a small, metallic detail that is a wonderful contrast to the muted kraft paper.
To finish the card, I added two, embossed sentiments, a trio of clear gems, and a small loop of ribbon. The possibilities for creating patterned backgrounds and borders with the Ornate Henna Patterns set seem limitless!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a terrific day,
Super COOL card!
