Colorful Backgrounds with Clearly Kelly Stamps
Hello, today I’m sharing a set of colorful cards featuring stamps from the newest Clearly Kelly 3×4 stamp sets. I love the versatility of these stamps – not only are they great sets for decorating scrapbooks and journals, but they are full of fun sentiments that are perfect for cardmakers.
I started by creating three card bases with mandarin, grass and iris layering papers. I stamped each card front with the Butterfly Pattern Bold Prints background stamp using Orange Soda, Green Apple, and Soft Purple inks respectively. This is a beautiful background stamp for adding a subtle pattern to your spring cards!
Next, I created embossed, inked and water-splattered backgrounds for each of the cards using Clearly Kelly stamps. I think that the playful sentiments in these sets are wonderful with bright, happy colors!
For my first card, I embossed Kelly’s Days of the Week stamps onto an angled panel of watercolor paper, inked the panel with green and blue Distress inks, splattered it with a few water drops, and then secured it to the card base with a white mat. The cute alarm clock is from Kelly’s Good Morning set. I finished the card with an oval sentiment panel, layered over vellum, that I secured to the card with green cording.
For my next card, I embossed Kelly’s Everyday Alphabet, the complete set, onto watercolor paper and then inked the panel with blue, purple and pink Distress inks. I layered the panel with a few sentiments from Kelly’s Good Morning set, including a humorous coffee sentiment perfect for caffeine lovers.
To complete the rainbow-colored card set, I repeatedly embossed an alarm clock and sentiment from Kelly’s Good Morning set onto a red, orange and yellow inked panel of watercolor paper. I added an additional sentiment with foam tape and finished the card with a trio of clear gemstones.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that you’re inspired to use some of your journalling stamps on your spring cards!
