Color Layering Orchid Cards
Two of the most beautiful stamp sets ever, Color Layering Large Orchid and Color Layering Orchid in a Pot, are being released in the new 2016 Catalog and today I am sharing two cards using them. For my first card using the Large Orchid, I stamped the stem and buds onto a white card stock base and stamped the flowers in coordinating colors on a separate sheet from which the flowers were hand-cut. The great news is that coordinating dies are also available for each of these two sets - yay! The colors used to stamp the flowers on this card are Mint Julep, Lime Green and Ultra Pink.
Everything was then adhered to a black panel before being adhered to the card base, and a wide glitter strip was added to the front (tucked under the bottom orchid), while some glitter was also added to the center of the flowers. The sentiment was added using black ink.
My second card uses the Orchid in a Pot stamps set, but this time all of the flowers were stamped onto one layer, and the sentiment panel, which features the heat embossed sentiment, was layered over the flower stem. I also added some glitter to the center of the flowers in the image on this card.
I embossed two horizontal lines across the front of the hot pink card base before adding the white panel to the front of the card. For reference, the colors used to stamp the flowers on this card are Soft Blossom, Fresh Peach, Ultra Pink, Mint Julep, Lime Green and Lime-to-Forever-Green Ombre. These stamps and dies will be shipping to your local stamp stores soon; they'll also be available for purchase in the Hero Arts Online Store on February 8th. Thanks for stopping by!
