Coffee & Croissant for Breakfast
What do you say we treat ourselves to traditional French breakfast today – steaming delicious coffee and a buttery, flaky croissant!
Hero Arts 2017 Spring catalog has entire section dedicated to Parisian Style – it features a handsome Color Layering Rooster, gorgeous Eiffel Tower and lots of various images that one would usually associate with France.
I was tempted to use sketchy drawings from the Coffee and Croissant stamp set to create a playful Bonjour card. One can never have too many Hello cards on hand, wouldn’t you agree?
I started working on this project by stamping Eiffel Tower using Pool to Navy and also Mint to Green ombre inks onto white cardstock. I also used Pool to Navy pad to add a sentiment and splashed some black ink using watercolors and a large paintbrush. Once ink was dry I foam mounted this panel onto an A2 top folding light gray card base.
I stamped images of coffee and croissant using black ink onto Arches Hot Press watercolor paper and used Daniel Smith watercolors to quickly add some color. I used coordinating frame cuts to cut my images out and adhered them onto the card.
I also played some more with images from the Coffee and Croissant set and stamped a quick and playful pattern onto watercolor paper. You can catch a glimpse of it on my first photo. It’s not quite done – I want to add a few more layers of color, but I wanted to share it here for additional inspiration.
Have fun stamping!
