Classic Numbers Fancy Dies

Hi! Do you like to personalize your card designs for special occasions? Today I'm sharing a card that I made with the new [hero_product_link sku="DI301" text="Classic Numbers Fancy Dies"] set. This set of number dies, zero through nine, is perfect for creating custom cards to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. These dies will also be perfect for decorating scrapbooks and journals.

To create a personalized background for my card, I die cut the number "14" six times from masking paper (or Post-It tape) and then randomly positioned the numbers on a panel of [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white"] cardstock. I used a foam applicator to blend three colors of distress ink across the panel, over the numbers. When I finished blending the inks, I removed the numbers to reveal a fun, custom design for a fourteenth birthday.

I used a pair of circle dies from the new [hero_product_link sku="DI199" text="Circle Infinity Dies"] set to highlight one of the numbers by die cutting the number from the background, layering it over vellum, and then repositioning it over the card base with foam tape. Then, I [hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="stamped"], colored and [hero_product_link sku="DI317" text="die cut"] the adorable bear and gift images from the [hero_product_link sku="CM103" text="Holiday Animals"] set. These cute stamps are so versatile and perfect for winter birthdays! I added an [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="embossed"], [hero_product_link sku="CL954" text="Happy Birthday"] sentiment stamped on a narrow strip of black cardstock and then finished the card with a trio of pearls.

While I had my supplies out, I decided to make a second, similar card for my nephew's upcoming ninth birthday. I simply changed the number on the background to nine, used blue and green inks, and then positioned the stamped elements a bit differently on the card front. Wouldn't it be fun to die cut numbers from gold cardstock to create a special card for a golden birthday?
