Bold Backgrounds

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share using the new Flowers for Coloring Bold Prints. I often make soft backgrounds for my cards, but I thought this stamp would be perfect to get out of my comfort zone and create a bold background.

I started off by stamping the Flowers for Coloring Bold Prints stamp on to a panel of watercolour paper with Versamark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. This was then taped to a board to watercolour. I used the Watercolor Dot Palette for my paints and I used almost every colour in the palette! I started off by colouring the flowers and then moved on to add a pale blue for the background. Once the piece was dry, I die cut it using the Rounded Rectangles Infinity Die Set.

The background was added to a white card base with foam sheet. I then die cut a heart from vellum and added this to the card with dots of Multi Medium Matte glue where the letters would cover it. I then die cut the letters from the Luggage Tag Alphabet Frame Cuts three times from white cardstock and stacked these up. These were added to the card with the same liquid glue.

I really like how the card came out, especially the bold background but this could easily be made softer with more subtle colours. Thank you for stopping by today. Happy stamping!
