Cards of a Feather...
Birds of a feather flock together – and cards of a feather do, too! Today we have a trio of "tweet" cards to share with you, all featuring the charming new Be You stamp set and coordinating dies. One stamp set...three ideas...all perfect for sending a cheerful, thoughtful note across the miles!
Lydia, Jayne, and Jess from the Creative Team are here to share a bit about how they created their designs.
Lydia: These little birds from Be You just seem so positive – it's what drew me to this set – they are quirky and joyful. I thought I'd drop some encouraging messages in the background on this simple friendship card by stamping the gorgeous Positive Script Bold Prints into my stenciled background THROUGH the same Large Sprinkled Dots Stencil that I ink blended first – it adds a fun texture along with the messages. I created my own simple greeting with the Luggage Lowercase Alphabet Dies, and perched those on top of a strip that shows more of the sentiments from the script stamp to create a focal point for the bird and sentiment.
Jayne: I can’t imagine a sweeter set of bird stamps and coordinating dies than the adorable, new Be You Bundle. For an easy encouragement card, I paired some of these delightful images with a punny sentiment and a stenciled heart background. To make the background, I cut a heart mask with a Nesting Heart Infinity Die and then inked inside the mask with the beautiful Ornate Flourish Stencil using Taffy and Fruit Punch inks. I secured the panel to a Peony card base, clustered the charming bird images at the base of the heart, and finished with a few Green Enamel Dots.
Jess: I love the sweet little birds in the Be You set and wanted to make my bluebird the star of this card while still keeping things clean and simple. I colored him and a branch with Copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. Then I die-cut a square of Canary cardstock and added some shading around the edges with Butter Bar Core ink. I topped that with the Square Set Fancy Die and stamped a sentiment before adding in my bird and branch. I love how cheery it is!
Now go spread your wings and have fun creating!
