Awesome Add-ons: May 2020 Edition

May 06, 2020 Hero Arts

Hi stampers! It’s time for this month’s Awesome Add-ons feature. Before we dive into the project inspiration, here’s a look at the 8 fun add-on products that we've released this month along with the May My Monthly Hero kit

Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.

Come fly away with me! Ah, if only! But we can dream a little, right? Hi everyone! I’m Debi Adams and I am so glad you’re here. We all might be safe at home (no better place to be right now) but we can always use our creativity to imagine we are somewhere else or even doing something else. The My Monthly Hero add-ons for May are sure to supply a lot of inspiration for making some positive cards, uplifting notes and, for filling up our time. Consider sending out a note or two to someone special or someone that needs some encouragement. It’s a simple gesture but it’s intentional in thought and good wishes. I have two such cards that just might work.

To say I love this airplane is an understatement. What I love most is that all the details are on the plane already so if you want to keep him just the way he is, that’s fine! If you want to spend a bit more time emphasizing certain parts, you can do that too! I used silver cardstock to give the plane some metallic pieces and some white cardstock to create a window. The clouds are pretty cool too! I used them flat on my card but I noticed some of the designers used them as part of a card front opening. So clever. No matter how you choose to create, you are sure to go to a happy place.

Layered strips of coordinating paper, die-cut from the circle from the Cloudy Sky Scene Dies set, makes up the center of this “sunny” stenciled sun card. I applied the stencil to Dove White cardstock using both Lemon Drop and Creamsicle Reactive Inks. Completing the card was the stamped sentiment and the white and gold die-cut word, “wonderful”. It’s now ready to be sent out as well. You have someone that could use either of these cards? Life will be busy again. No time but the present to make and spread some sunshine.

Thanks for popping in! Hoping to see your card creations soon!
